There is a possibility its a problem with the box. It could be the audio settings in the set top box are not set correctly. Powercycling the box by unplugging the power cord is the best start for working out any issues the box may have. In case rebooting the box and checking the audio output in the box settings does not correct this, i have sent you a private message on the matter.
