Audio setting question

Hi Forum,

I am a new customer to FiOS TV and Internet, having moved over from Comcast.  I am still learning the new screens and settings and there is one I cannot figure out what it is for.  Hoping the Forum can help satisfy my curiosity.

It is Settings, Audio, Audio Selection,  Press OK to enable/disable the next audio selection.

Not sure what this is for.  It seems minor but wanted to make sure.  Anyone know?

Thanks!

Kevin

so, jkfiber, i think what TNS_2 is saying is that if you "press ok to enable... the next audio", then when you watch a show that  has an alternate audio  available (SAP) (SIMULCAST  EN ESPANOL, perhaps) and you press your # or (PIP) button on your remote control, the audio you hear will switch to this "Second Audio Program" , press again and it goes back to orig language. "Disable the next audio feature"  and that key on your remote will no longer have that effect when pressed while viewing a show....i think!?

Hi Tom,

STB is Arris VMS 1100.  HD/DVR with multi room DVR on 3 other TV's.

Client STB Arris IPC1100

TV's are Panasonic 50" plasma, 42" Panasonic plasma, and 2 32" Samsung LED's.

The Audio setting is from the Arris VMS 1100 STB from the Menu, Settings, Audio accessed from the remote Menu button.

Thanks,

Kevin

Hi Kevin:

As you can see I don't have your equipment

Could your answer be here someplace ?

The manual doesn't mention it.

My guess is it selects alternate audio, but, if so, its not clear how you would switch audio

Note it looks like the # (pip) key is then the key to switch audio.

Thanks everyone. It was the alternate language version. When the audio selection is enabled, the PIP button brings up a menu with the alternate language option when there is one available. Thanks again!
