I have the new Quantum (VMS) set box and It seems that my sound coming out of the TV is stuck in Surround Sound. I'm unable to hear the differance when I switch from surround, to stereo, or to mono. When I'm listening to, lets say a sporting event, the crowd noise is twice as loud as the announcer where it is difficult to understand the announcer, so I have to put it on closed caption to understand what the person is saying. Verizon is aware of the problem, it even does it on there systems.
So when will verizon fix it or does anyone have this problem and how can it be fixed?

You have to have multiple speaker for surround to truly work. You also need a receiver that does surround. It is not the service that has a problem.
