Black Box (Window) on certain channels.

On certain channels I will occasionally get a black window (about 30% of the screen) -- reminds me of an old DOS command window.  If I change the volume or something that uses the same pixel area the box disappears for 5-10 seconds. Sometimes I even see text (mostly random) apear in the box.  Anyone experience this?

Have you tried re-booting the STB?  If you have version 1.7 this can be done from the settings menu.  If not you can pull the power for 30 seconds and then re-connect or try from your Verizon account page.  Don't know if that will solve your issue, but it seems to help a multitude of other sins Smiley Wink

EDIT:  If that fails, a call the the FSC (fiber solutions center) and a request to re-load the box may fix it.

This sounds like a blank closed-captioning box.  Ensure all closed captioning options are off.
