Just got my kid a new flat screen LCD TV. Plugged it in, but can't get any HD channels. I have Extreme HD. Do I need a HDMI cable for this TV in order to access HD channels??

What type of connection are you using, if it's not HDMI?

What type of set top box does he have?
Do you have any other HD STB that is working elsewhere in the house?
If you have a HD STB it should get the HD channels. Component Input or HDMI. If you sre using composite (Yellow Cable) it will not work. Also S-Video will not give you HD.

Thank you for the response. I do have one HD STB in my living room and the TV is still hooked up with the standard cable wire. I will go out to purchase a HDMI tomorrow.

Hmm, Verizon provided me with an HDMI cable when they came for the initial install on my HD DVR, and later when they sent me an HD STB.
