I really miss using my VCR. I can play my VCR, but when I stop it there is just a blank screen.

If your STB has a coax output, connect it to VCR.
Then set VCR to channel 3 or 4 depending on configuration of STB.
Or you can use composite output of STB to composite input of VCR if it supports it.
