Channels I'm not subscribed to are showing in the guide.

Anyone else having this issue? I have Prime HD and I have my guide set to "subscribed channels". All of a sudden within the last week channels I am not subscribed to are showing in the guide. I'm not talking PPV channels, premium sports, etc... I'm talking regular channels like GSN, BBC, etc...

Is this a gltch or just another new way for Verizon to try and get you to upgrade? By saying heres a channel but ha ha you dont get it.

I'm having the same issue.  I have Extreme HD service.  Not sure what's going on.  Also, if I'm in the "guide" view, and I enter the numbers "600" to go to CNN, the guide will take me to channel 603 instead. It completely skips 600 and 602.  I think all of these are software bugs that Verizon just hasn't worked on yet.

I bet this all happened during one of those quick updates. I noticed theres a few new channels to which could be why things got messed up. Hope they fix it soon. Gets kind of annyoing when you spot a show you like then you realize its a channel you dont get.

I don't think this issue has been addressed completely at this stage. There are a few threads in the forums that feature the same problem, but I haven't seen an actual solution. The best reference I was able to find is here:

http://www.broadbandreports.com/forum/r26719829-Can-you-remove-channels-from-the-guide-

The idea of setting your Favorites to show all your subscribed channels seems a bit tedious, but it may be the only method at this time. You may want to make an entry in the "Ideas" forum to request this feature.

Yeah, this is the same issue I am getting. Same channels too.

I agree, it must be a marketing ploy. However, they should know, I am not upgrading, lol. I'm content with the package I have, but just annoyed. It's very obnoxious.

I was hoping that these were channels that were being added though.

I cannot access my Video OnDemand channels, for example, HBO and Showtime.  It is stating that I am currently not subscribed to them.   On the phone with Verizon now and have been waiting for someone for 56 minutes now!!!  Frustrated!!!

Have you tried resetting the set top box? That usually fixes that issue. Has for me in the past anyways.

Hello,

Please check the following:

Menu -- Settings -- Television -- Last Viewed Guide State -- Enable (as checked)

then go to Guide -- Options -- Subscribed Channels

This ensures that everytime you click on 'Guide', you'll only see the subscribed channels on the guide listing.

Perhaps the last viewed guide state became disabled, or with the recent Menu additions to FiOS, your guide got reset somehow.

To go back to viewing 'All channels' on the guide, go to Guide -- Options -- 'All Channels'.

It's actually nice that Verizon has these options on the guide, including being able to filter to just HD channels!

Hope this helps!

Erin424, if this issue is confined to just one set top box and you can get HBO and Showtime fine on the other STBs at home, then I would follow what beetlejuice suggested and would try rebooting the particular problematic STB via:

Menu -- Customer Support -- In Home Agent -- Reboot STB

Menu -- Customer Support -- In Home Agent -- Set Top Box Auto-Correction

If this issue is happening on all of your set top boxes, though, then you'd want to verify that your subscription to these premium channels is still valid.

Try contacting you local Verizon FIOS store to have your account reviewed:

Calling the VZ FiOS store might be less time consuming than calling the 800 number for Customer Service.

Here is a list of Verizon FiOS stores:

http://www22.verizon.com/Support/Residential/tv/fiostv/General+Support/Account+Issues/QuestionsOne/8...

For technical-related matters and REPAIR, though, they can also connect you right through to Technical Support and this could save you some wait time as well.

Hope this helps!

If the guide is showing "subscribed channels" nothing became disabled. I would have figured that out if that were the issue, but seeing as others are having the same issue its clearly on Verizon's end and is a programming issue.
