Verizon sent me an email saying I could view a movie free. I couldn't access the movie and called Verizon tech support. The agent told me to pick "buy the movie" and then I could view it and I shouldn't be charged for it because it was a free offer. I just discovered that I was charged $21.99 for the "free" movie. How can I get the charge removed?
While a Verizon employee may occasionally post here, this community is meant mainly for peer-to-peer support. If you need to talk to a Verizon representative, you should contact customer service directly at http://www.verizon.com/contactus.
Choose “Live Chat.”
If a chat agent is available to assist you, the chat link will become live after the page is fully loaded.
I had the same problem; free Flexview movie from Verizon, only option was to purchase, now being charged $20 for the movie and I don't even have a hard copy! Will never accept free offers from Verizon. Lesson learned.
I cannot speak to the specific language used in the offer you were given, or the advice you received from the Verizon representative. But the only "free" movie offers I've seen from Verizon were free rental offers, not free purchase. A RENTAL (either SD or HD) last up to 48 hours after the initial viewing. A PURCHASE lasts as long as you can access the service (potentially forever). If you had rented the movie, you would have been shown the rental price and had to agree to it. Then Verizon would have credited your monthly bill for the rental price. If your movie did not show a rental price, it is because it was only available for PURCHASE, and therefore ineligible for the free offer.
It sucks to learn things the hard way, I know. You're not the first person that has been hit with the full purchase price for not understanding the difference. If you are lucky, you may be able to find a customer service agent that can help you remove the purchase from your account. But unfortunately it is up to them to decide what to do.
