Need some help! For some reason tonight my FIO remote stopped working from 3 feet on out. I think the issue is the DVR. My RCA programmable remote which has worked since we had the DVR installed (6 months ago) is having the same issue. I've cleaned the front of the DVR, rebooted it twice, even tried resetting the FIOs remote. The box works fine if I stand within 3 feet of the unit but anything out side of that is not working. Does anyone have any suggestions. Thought about a IR extender but would rather get the problem resolved considering the money I'm paying on a monthly basis. Thanks.

My FiOS was stalled last week and I have the same issue. The DVR is the only one with this problem.

I was having the same issue when everything looked normal. Try new batteries in the Remote, or swap remotes as a test.
New batteries fixed my remote issues. Even if the remotes just came out of the box, the batteries could have an issue. Mine started acting up and works great with the bunny.

Why did you have to send a private reply for this and not just post your reply so everyone can see it and benefit from it that has the same issue? I have the same problem. The remote doesn't work even within 3 feet some times. Some time need to be inches away. New batteries and remotes from the other set top boxes don't fix it so its definitely the Cisco CHS 435HDC. Putting the box in different positions doesn't help either. Neither does resetting it by un plugging it. Please help.
Thanks

Sometimes IR interference is the cause of interrupted IR signals from getting from the remote to the STB; it's like a military jammer. Try moving the boxes away from the TV, or if that is not practical, try placing a barrier of some sort between the TV and STB. When I had the problem, I moved the STB to a lower shelf and lined the shelf with thick cardboard. Any solution should be fireproof. There are several threads on these forums about this, so use the "search" feature above.
