Computer screen data to my TV
Jerry-Scannell

Is there a way that I can connect my PC's video output to my TV screen?  I have  FIOS TV, internet and phone.

Thanks in advance,

Jerry

This is probably not the forum to get an answer to this question.

That said, it would depend on your video card's specifications and your TV inputs. My TV allows for the connection of a PC's video card and audio output. You may want to check your TV's manual and see what it allows. My video card recognizes my TV as a giant monitor and adjusts the resolution for it.  As for using the TV as a monitor, it is rather difficult to do any work on a 52 inch monitor, but games look great. I have a PC installed behind the TV and use a wireless mouse and keyboard to access it. .

Isn't an issue of having FiOS or not.

You could be in the middle of the desert; as long as you have a computer, a TV, and a wire to connect them with you can do what you are asking...

There are many ways, but it depends on your tv and computer.

For example, my Vizio TV has a VGA connector on it so I can connect my computer to my TV just like a monitor.

Also my laptop has an HDMI output. So I can connect an HDMI cable from the laptop to the TV and then enable the External monitor function on the laptop and bingo, Computer on TV.

And these are just two examples. Like I said, many ways

short answer is yes, you can.

I have two tv's that I have done this with.  my 50 samsung had a PC VGA connector in the back of it.  so it acted just like a monitor hook up.  I just plugged one end in the pc and one end in the TV selected the correct PC input from the tv menu and viola!

I took it for granted that that is how all tv's came and so I bought a 73 mitsubishi, that did not have that same hook up in the back.  BUT it had hdmi.  so I went to the local electronics store, and bought a DVI to hdmi converter thing.  one end had the VGA plug that my pc required and the other end was hdmi.   it was like a 6 dollar cable.

worked similiarly but I had to mess with the resolutions to get the screen just right, whereas the samsung it just immediately fit the screen.

I'm glad your first example worked like a stringed instrument!

Couldn't resist...

Should be VOILA (without any accent is acceptable.)

Possibly a typo --
