It would be nice if Verizon would add Program Guide to the DCT 700. I have two TVs in locations that could not possible hold the much larger SD Receiver! If it's a cost issue, then add $1.00 to the $3.99 per month charge for Program Guide. I would be willing to pay $4.99 per month for a DCT 700 and Program Guide, just so I don't have to try and hide that huge SD Receiver box!

The reason the DCT700 are so cheap to rent because there is not programming required, or updates. It is just a descriptor box, just a signal pass though. Doing what you ask would add a element and a need to update the software like the other boxes and would add cost on there end. But what you are asking for can be done, that model has the ability to do it. But with the extra cost I dont think they would. but you never know.

It's not a cost issue, it's a technology issue. The DCT-700 hardware is not capable of recieving the IP fed guide data over MOCA (IP over coax).

Oh OK, that's why other cable providers can do it and fios can't.

Not to mention, you're better off looking up the program information on your own on Zap2It than relying on the FiOS guide data. Consider not having the guide a "blessing in disguise"

Thanks for the quick replies...I figured it was a tech issue. Because Comcast in CT uses he same DCT 700 and they have the VOD and EPG. Would be nice if the ONT was able to decode and send the data over coax to these boxes....I know...I'm asking for too much, but I have two 20" LCD's and the DCT 700 is light enough and small enough where I was able to put together a bracket to hold the DCT 700 behind the panel (out of sight). Just makes for a much cleaner look.
