DVR Low Disk Space Behavior

I used to have a TiVo and when I was getting low on space, the DVR would scavange the space from older programs by deleting them.  This does not seem to be the case with the Verizon DVR and it drives me crazy.

I never use the "Save Until" feature, but when the DVR is about the run out of space during a recording, a message displays in very poor English, letting me know that the current program will stop recording immediately.  If I'm in front of the TV at the time (not usually) I have to hurry and delete some old programs to make space and try and resume recording manually.

This behavior is horrible.  Is there a way to make this a little more hands off?  Maybe I was spoiled by the TiVo, but it seems wrong for me to have to manage the space on this thing like I do.

the Verizon DVR "SHOULD" be deleting older recordings to make room, unless specified, not to.....

IF yours is not doing this, something is not working properly

Contact Tech support and have then send their little commands to it, and go from there....

They will fix it or replace it... simple as that

I was afraid this was going to be the answer.  I'd rather pull out my nose hairs with a pair of pliers than call Verizon customer service.
