DVR SHOWS TEMP PAUSES AND FREEZES DURING PLAYBACK ON DVR SERVER BOX IN SAME ROOM. Recently switched to new FIOS Quantum servers and client boxes (another mistake I make with Fios).  Upgrade happened a few weeks ago and now recently when I play DVR back on SERVER box in same room it pauses and freezes.  ANY POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS?  (Besides having to go back to Verizon and standing in line again!)

I reported this several times and they are now sending me a new box.  I absolutely hate the new search on the DVR (it doesn't pick up on half the shows) and if this new box doesn't work right, I'm DONE with FIOS.  I've experienced way too many issues for the money I pay.

Have you also experienced slowness/lagtime when using the remote? I click on a button and it's like it didn't recognize the signal. They gave me an extra remote and I've tried both. Not the remotes! Guess I need to exchange the box. Ugh!

No. It's a peer-to-peer forum. For a Verizon tech, go to the DSLReports forums and post in the Verizon Direct area. A tech will get to you then. They'll probably replace your equipment. And when the same problems arise with the replacement equipment, you'll join me and many others in realizing the Quantum equipment is garbage.

Mine does the exact same things. Tried using "chat", handed off twice to support in India who couldn't comprehend the problem, they gave up and attempted to transfer me to ANOTHER "team" at which point the "chat" program was terminated by Verizon.

 

I keep asking to exchange this piece of crap for a Motorla so I can actually watch what I recorded.

OMG! What a couple of days I've had. Yesterday the DVR server box went nuts and besides freezing up constantly started rebooting (at least 20+ times). I tried all the online support and no difference. This morning I brought the box to a Verizon store to exchange. That was painful. Once I got home my instructions were to call Tech Support to get the box up and running. That took 1 hr 40 min but at least the guy on the other end wasn't a jerk like the one at the store. Now with my splitting headache in full force, checked a few things with the new box. Showed it could only record 2 shows...well that's not what I had this morning before turning in the broken box. So yup had to call Verizon back. First guy I talked to pretty much hung up on me by just switching me over to someone else. All of a sudden music was playing and some new guy was on the line. After having to go through the 'polite' introductions and how may I help you. Once again I had to explain to someone what transpired and I'm asking WHY would my service be different just by exchanging a DVR box? He apologizes and proceeds to tell me I have to have a different package to support more than two show recordings. Yes, I know that's what I had this morning! So he makes the changes. An hour or so later my daughter turns on her tv and no DVR service. She has a server box also. So again I have to call back. This time they want all our server numbers and go into the explaination of the cost difference for what I'm asking for. I DON'T CARE I JUST WANT WHAT I HAD BEFORE I TURNED IN THE BROKEN BOX! Seems verizon wipes out your account when you exchange a box. Had to talk to billings again and they wanted to explain the pricing. Cutting them off I flew into my speach that I just want what I had this morning. So 7 hours later looks like things may be resolved. We'll see how long this new DVR box lasts. Oh and I found out that there is an issue with the new quantum boxes and the remote...they're working on a fix!! I'm so done with verizon...more incentive to move and get out of the contract!

Yes this was happening to me and tech support said it was because the dvr was to full and it needs to be under 75% or it does this which i think is **bleep** but it did fix it for me

I have the same issue but with my set top boxes.  Verizon said it was my DVR so they sent me a new one.  With the new one all the hesitation with changing channels and everything else you have to do with the remote is gone but my set top boxes still hesitate and freeze up the picture constantly.  We can't watch tv on the other tvs.  Called them again and they had me do everything I have already done.... COLD reset boxes, disconnect this cable and that cable.... same problems.  Now the DVR remote is hesitating again, my set top boxes still dont work.  Verizon now told me that the set top boxes are losing connection to the DVR.  They sent me a new set top box.... guess what still doesn't work.  So they are telling me that it is wiring.... we have all new CAT5 cable in the house and ALL of our problems started with Quantum.  They say I have to have a tech come out and if it is inside our house then we pay for the tech call.  OH lets not mention that wifi connection drops off our phone, lap top and video gaming system all the time.  GREAT TIMES.....  We will most likely pay the cancellation fee and move on.

Anyone else experiencing this? Have had the problem since at least March. Coincidentally?? happened when I changed service plan to lesser channels. Have replaced DVR box 4 times, changed cables, chsnged remote and have had technician in as well. Seems to work for a few days then freezes again. All other menu options work. I must reboot by unplugging power or rebooting to get it to work.Then a few days later it happens again. Any ideas???
