DVR - Too Many Episdoes Being Retained

I set DVR to retain "3" episodes of a specific program but it retains many more. Only one program of about 12 is being retained at 3 episodes and the record settings are the same. Any ideas? Thanks!

I think the retain limit only comes into effect when the DVR needs the space for other recordings.

I will have to play with the Program Priorities to see if the lower priority programs get bumped back to 3 shows first.

Are they bring recorded as part of a series? If so, the series retension limit should take effect (does for me).
