My DVR recently informed me that it was out of space and was going to stop recording. It stopped recording the show and when I  looked at the DVR usage it was only half full since I don't do very much recording on that DVR. I went to the channel that had stopped recording and pressed record and the DVR started recording normally again. This is the first time I ever noticed this happen.

 

Is this a known problem. Any solutions?

You need to do a cold reboot.  Unplug the DVR from the wall electrical outlet, wait 30 seconds, plug it back in.  DVR space should be correct.
