DVR unexpectedly erased all recorded programs

Has anybody else had this problem?  All programs were on our DVR on 7/19.  When my husband tried to watch a recorded program on 7/21 the dvr message indicated that there were no recorded programs.  What happened? Is it possible to restore all of the programming that was "lost"?  Our DVR was about 70% full when this happened.

Yes, this did happen to me.  I did a restart and got all of my movies back.  Hope this helps.

Hi,

Thanks for responding.  Unfortunately we tried to restart but, alas, no programs reappeared.

You might try an autocorrection.

Were these recorded on the actual DVR itself or on a connected external drive?

I don't know what autocorrection is.  We tried everything else.

Bummer. Was hoping maybe a cable was loose to the external drive and reconnecting it might bring them back. I'm stumped by this one. Have never had it happen (knock wood). When you go into History or Recent Deletes, do the programs show up there?

It is now the STB menu uption under Customer Support >> In-Home Agent >> Fix FiOS TV Issues.  It does much more than a the reboot option.

I know this thread is sort of old, but YES, my piece of crap DRV has erased all programing on more than one occassion. I am currently waiting (30min) to speak with someone at verizon about it. This is the 3rd replacement DVR we have gotten and continue to have reliability issues with Verizon's equipment. Restaring and autocorrect do not help. I don't know if there is a solution nor do I know why this keeps happening. I can say that I hate spending almost $20/month for unreliable equipment.

Did you ever find a solution?
