My 7215 loses its audio format configuration about 70% of the time when it is turned off. Going to settings and selecting audio format turns it back on. I'm connecting my video via HDMI directly to my Pioneer Plasma display. The audio is connected via coax SPDIF to my Denon Home Theater Receiver. I've heard there is an issue with this? Would I get better results if I used the optical link instead?

Have been using the coaxial SPIDF to my A/V receiver and HDMI to the TV for 1.5 years with no audio issues (using 6416 HD DVR). I realize it is not the same series, but I'm not sure how many of the "new" STBs are out there to get a response.
