As far back as I can remember I’ve Been getting the weekly emergency alert message daily if not more than once a day , now it’s annoying but where my real issue lies is when I’m viewing Ondemand content that doesn’t allow fast forward. When the alert interrupt the content you are kicked back to live tv and when you try to resume the on demand content you were previously watching it forces you to watch from the beginning with no ability to skip to where it was interrupted. This is especially frustrating when your near the end of the show being watched. Please tell me that in 2019 this not intended!
Unfortunately you are caught between two issues.
I don't understand why you are getting weekly alerts?
That seems very excessive.
Unfortunately, there isn't much that can be done.
The content providers are the ones that are requiring no FFWD.
And the emergency alert takes over the box (as required) so it has to return to live tv.
Have you tried reaching out to your locality to find out why they are pushing alerts so often?
