Is the ethernet port on the QIP 6100-1 active for connecting to the internet?

I am pretty sure the answer is no.  As far as I have heard all the FIOS STB/DVR's connect to the internet via MOCA on their COAX cable.

The answer is that the port is absolutely NOT active.  That port is there for other cable systems and would be an input to the STB in lieu of the Verizon MoCA interface.
