Expanded channels and previously selected recordings

Will I have to re program my DVR when the channels change, or will the DVR remember the show and automatically change the channel to the new number.

We converted in my area several weeks ago and all scheduled recordings and series changed to the new channel numbers. There were no errors and I did not do a thing.
