Can we get a Locked and Sticky post on the fios boards And they can be updated by a admin. This would be used to lay out answers for common questions like external hard drivers.

Example

Question: Can we use a external hard drive.

Answer: the Verizon QIP7216 DVR set top box includes an eSATA port which is planned to be enabled in a future release of our Interactive Media Guide.

Question: Why is my SD picture quality poop on my STB

Answer: There is a bug in the 1.6 STB image, it will be fixed with the roll out of 1.6.1 software image. It will be rolled out soon.

Question: Can media manager stream video

Answer: No it can not, right now video streaming is in beta test phase and will be released with the next media manager software roll out.

I can go on and on with them, but I hope it would keep some of the redundant questions, and if someone ask we can just link over to the tread. But it would be important to lock it so only a admin, mod, or staff can update it.

Thanks Tim. We are noticing many of the same questions come up again and again as the forum gets busier. I will discuss this with admins and other moderators this evening. If anyone else has FIOS FAQ's suggestions, feel free to post ideas here. We will keep you all posted on the outcome of our discussions.

I am sure if this is done, people like Myself, Justin, or matcarl can give you a big list of them.

They could modify the forum in there a bit. I stumbled upon this forum yesterday. The external storage thread could be modified by an admin to include the post by Jamie_Lee, and then we could link over to it, or move that thread over here.

That is a bit out of the way, as someone who has run a few forums, I find with a structure like the ones here were most people only go into the topic they need info about. Each one should have a FAQ for that topic. More for technical issue for the specific topic. The FAQ there is just a simple general (non technical) faq.

I agree. In fact, it was purely accidental that I even found that forum yesterday. I thought I was checking the Local and Long DIstance phone forum, and POOF! I was in the FAQ forum.

Maybe the title of the sticky thread in here should be "READ THIS FIRST - FiOS TV FAQ (Updated MMM-DD-YYYY)", and then have the Q&A's in there.

Hi TimSykes,

We are currently looking at the suggestion to put a FAQ thread as a sticky on each board.  We wanted to start out with one location to lump the issues together but will be implementing these suggestions in the near future.  Stay tuned. . .   :smileywink:
