FCC Mandated CLEAR QAM locals

I am recently unable to get PBS via clear QAM.  Verizon tells me they cannot assist as I do not have an HD STB.    I had to explan to the CSR what QAM was, and the FCC mandate that locals be carried in HD unencrypted.  When I alsed the CSR if not a single verizon tech had access to a coax cable from the verizon netword, and a current QAM enabled HDTV, she said she could offer no assistacne without a HD STB.

Where is my PBS 23.1 Frequency 73-1523, and when will I have it back.

FCC already notified, as well as the local PBS affiliate,

The Community Idea Stations
23 Sesame Street
Richmond, VA 23235

Any ideas on what Verizon is doing here?

Solved.  It appears the FIOS signal degraged in the house.  New coax leg solved it.

Too bad Verizon could not offer any type of signal diagnostics on the line becasue I do not want to spend money on inferior STB and dvr options that spordically reboot themselves when changing channels.  Vista Media Center and HDHOMERUN all the way!

It's still there.  Did you do a rescan?  Like most cable providers, Verizon FiOS periodically adjusts the QAM locations of different channels.  Check all of the sub-channels from QAMs 70 to 75.  Expect QAM channels to move around several times a year.

The FCC requires that local channels be unencrypted, but it does not require that the provider offer any assistance for those feeds.  Like virtually every other provider, Verizon FiOS does not provide technical support for Clear QAM.   The customer is on their own if they want to use FiOS TV without a STB.

I received a reply asking if I had re-scanned.  I have re-scanned 5 tiems over a 3 day period.  Still no results for PBS.  I have contacted the FCC and Verizon for escalation.

Could it possibly be just my device in the garage needs to be re-booted, even though I get all other HD locals, and SD PBS on a dct-700?
