I hope someone out there can help a non techie person...I have a Samsung 40" 1080P TV, just purchased in January. I have not been able to get a full HD picture, I get full width, but have the black box on the top and bottom. I have both the STB and the TV set to 1080 and picture size to 16:9. Samsung says I should set my picture size to the "wide fit" option, which is a selection in the picture size options, but I can't do that because it is grayed out. Samsung claims that it is grayed out because Verizon is not sending the correct signal. Verizon says it is Samsung that is not set right. So neither one fixes the problem. I wait a few weeks and start my calls over again hoping I will reach a rep at either Verizon or Samsung who will fix this. All I get is a lot of finger pointing. I have another HD STB which works fine on my LG TV so at the Verizon suggestion I swapped out the boxes on each of the TV's the LG still had the full picture but the Samsung didn't.
Both my STB's are Motorola HD QIP6200
Has anyone else had this problem and maybe any suggestions and maybe success.
