It is extremely annoying to have to scroll through hundreds of channels in the guide every time I want to see what is on television. In the guide screen I went to Options | Subscribed channels. I start scrolling through the list, pick a show, hit ok only to get the message I am not subscribed to the channel. I am using the "subscribed channel" mode on my guide.
I call tech support, they have no clue what I am talking about and tell me to add a favorite list.. You mean to tell me I have to manually go through and find every single channel I am subscribed to and add it to a list? I have had Comcast and Dish in the past and never heard of such a tedious task being asked of subscribers. Is this a joke? Favvorites is supposed to be a SHORT list of your favorite channels, not all channels. I have Prime HD. So you expect me to add 265 channels manually to a favorite list because your guide does not work? This is what your tech support tells me to do! Is this a joke?
Why can't I just view the channels I am subscribed to in the guide? If the feature doesn't work (which is quite pathetic for such a basic feature), why offer the option?

Just an fyi, these are peer to peer forums.
Does your guide revert back to the original guide each time? If so go to settings > television > last viewed guide state > choose enable
This will keep it on subscribed channels each time you pull up the guide.
You will still get channels you aren't subsribed to to show up although your list will still be much less then if it was set to all channels. You will still get mostly channels that have been changed or added recently and some premium or vod channels. I've noticed that things are usually fixed when they update the firmware, but if a channel is added, relocated, or changed then until the next update things are messed up.
Hoepfully they will fix this issue sometime soon.

Thank you for your post, I have the same issue.
I figure they're in the biz of selling as many channels [or channel tiers] as possible. So I assume the extra channels are there as teasers..
I was going to contact VZ for this issue, but guess I won't bother.. 😞

No, my guide does not revert back to the normal guide. The subscribed channels never ever worked with the guide.
After multiple phone calls and emails, escalating through superviors just to get some kind of respone, the best I can get from Fios is this will be fixed January or February. Yes, they expect us as customers to go through and add every single channel we are subscribed to on a favorite list, then add a second favorite list with our real favorites.
They don't apologize, don't care, and do not think this is an inconvenience. It IS a huge inconvenience. This should be an extremely basic feature. I had Dish and Comcast and never had this kind of issue with my guide. I actually used to work for Dish, and I find the fact that a basic feature such as the guide not working properly to speak VOLUMES about the lack of care Fios has for the customer.

Originally had just a regular set box for my TV, but upgraded to a DVR after one week. After much grumbling and experimenting, I managed to get my guide to cooperate:
Press "Menu" button on your Verizon remote
Go to "Settings"
Go to "System"
Go to "Favorite Channels"
Go to "Favorites 1"
Go to "Add Subscribed Channels" and press "OK"
Press left arrow on Verizon remote until get back to "System"
Go to "Television"
Go to "Last Viewed Guide State"
Go to "Enable" and press Ok
Press "Exit" button on Verizon remote and check your guide to double-check that only your subscribed channels show up
Hope this helps 😄

What is not working? You are the first that I have seen that says that setting the last viewed guide to enabled and then set to subscribed that your guide shows more than subscribed channels.

I go to:
Press "Menu" button on your Verizon remote
Go to "Settings"
Go to "System" - I do not have a system button
Go to "Favorite Channels"
Go to "Favorites 1"
I get here and do not have this option:
Go to "Add Subscribed Channels" and press "OK"
Under favorites 1, these are my options:
1. add all channels
2. remove all channels
3. add or remove channels
If I choose add all channels, it includes everything, so I still have the issue of flipping through all these channels I am not subscribed to. There is no option to add subscribed channels in favorites 1.

The subscribed option under my guide does not work, never has worked since I got service in September. I can use the last viewed guide setting, but that again gives me every single channel, so I have to scroll through this massive list and try to pick through the channels.
Depending on who you talk to, Verizon said it is a bug that will be fixed next year.I am told to pull up a list of my channels on the website and go through and manually add them to a favorite list. Very time consuming. For paying almost $200 a month, you would think something as basic as a view on a guide would work. Very disappointing!

I think the Add Subscribed Channels option is in the Guide that is part of the newest level of the IMG that is currently being rolled out. Some of us now have it, others not yet. But when you get the new level of the IMG there is an option to add the subscribed channels to your Favorites list, I have that option.

But interestingly a positive you will see is that you can see on demand programs that you don't subscribe to.
