Good morning, I understand how frustrating this may be for you. Would you be able to provide specific examples (channels, dates, times) of the discrepancies you have found? In addition, what is you zip code so that we can check the line-up in your area. Thank you C H E R I S E J A C K S O N

Yaco, I'm seriously impressed! How did you get them to answer you.
Next time I have some specific examples, I'll definitely send them to your contact. In fact, I see something now that I'll send her.

Luck of the draw..I just got the website from Justin. He did the work. I think we should just setup a posting here or at dslreports and have one of us or a VZ employee send it.

and if you go to TV Listings, Stylebook you will see the Presidents email address a couple pages in..
Do you think Verizon, does any changes to their guide data? If you look through some of their guide samples, it looks pretty detailed.

It appears everyone is getting the same response from Cherise at FYI (i.e. 'Understand our frustration... please send specific info and zipcode so they can look at our listings'.). I have responded that the listing errors are bad enough, but it's the REAL TIME updates to the guide that needs addressing when programs are pre-empted or delayed. For me, it often causes the wrong shows being recorded.
No one offers real time updates. Even the best guide data providers lag by at least 12 hours.
You should also keep in mind that many preemptions are specific to your area or region. Take the example of CBS. CBS shows different games in different regions and some games go over while others do not. For other preemptions, affiliates have equipment similar to your DVR, which lets them record a program and then play it back as other programs finish.

I have used TiVo, Comcast, DirecTV, and now FiOS. The sports is a problem on all of them. That aside, the GUIDE DATA on FiOS is last in accuracy. Verizon needs to apply pressure to FYI or switch to someone else such as Tribune. Comcast has plenty of problems with their DVR and vanilla featureless DVR, but they do have terrific Guide Data. I would most certainly look into whomever Comcast uses.
A couple examples I had were the first presidential debate... The guide had Bush and Kerry. The other has been Thursday Night Football wasn't even in the guide the first week it started on the NFL Network. The second week it showed up in the guide one day before the game.

Since Yaco has led the way and at least gotten a response from FYI, I thought I would put together a short "form" to fill in when I see a Guide error and then send it to Cherise. Here is what I have come up with:
Send to cjackson@fyitelevision.com
Cherise,
The FiOS TV Guide had the wrong data for:
Zip: nnnnn Date: xx/xx/xx Time: xx:xx xM
Channel #: nnnn Guide: nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn Actual: nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
Please check into this error and ensure it does not happen again.
Thank you,
xxxxxxxxx
I just created it in a text editor and saved it (Notepad would work, although I use EditPad Lite), I can then easily copy and paste it into an email. replace the place holders, and send. I don't know if this will help, but I am going to try it and see what happens.
