Very recently I've noticd that the show guide is wrong on some channels. For instance, on the Discovery Channel HD listing it says that Mythbusters is on but it is actually playing Cash Cab. I've just started noticing this so I have no idea if it's random or confined to specific channels. 

 

Any ideas?

Many. The new software 1.9 img that is due out soon, should improve on this. The guide provider is a company called FYI. But Verizon has another source for guide data, and rumor has it this data will be combined some how to improve accuracy. There are many posts regarding this subject, and it has improved quite a bit over time. It is really an issue when scheduling recordings on the DVR. So Verizon is really pushing to improve the information. So let us hope the new software image will help alot.

It is quite annoying. They have the comcast listings for the capitals playoff game tonight completely wrong. And its so far off to record the game properly i have to record programs that start half hour/hour before and after. I dont get why they cant get it together with the channels. Or at least give me an alternate choice of just recording for a certain time and not by show if they cant get it right.

Set up a manual recording ... you set the time, the channel, etc ...

I didnt know that was possible. I was looking for my manual and didnt find it. Can anyone tell me how to do (if it is simple?). Otherwise I will search around for it.

DVR button on remote ==> Create Recording ==> Manual Recording ==> enter the info

Welcome to the World of Verizon's horrible channel guide. I first signed up for FiOS back in June 2008 and the guide was this bad then. It has not gotten any better (not that I noticed), it is still riddled with errors. It's not any one channel or time, it's everywhere. I do hope it improves with 1.9 though I am not holding my breath. It is a shame because I do like the layout, structure, etc. of the guide itself. Now only if the content was any good!!!!
