HD DVR cutting out and losing picture

Message 1 of 3

We had a 6416-2 STB and a Hitachi plasma. The stb keeps cutting out, at minimum just the sound but sometimes the picture flicks too. Then other times the whole box just freezes up or the whole screen goes blank. We have to constantly (at least 1+x a day) unplug it and reset it. We've only had FiOS TV for a month or so and have had problems since day 1. First it was the On Demand not working but that was just some filter it needed since we have had FiOS connected to the house for over three years. We thought that once they fixed that, it would help everything but no.

Is this common to FiOS TV or is it just a bad box? I kept DirecTV until I decide which I prefer but it's really not even close unless this is rare and we just have a bad unit.

more info: we are using the same HDMI cable we did for our DirecTV DVR and never had any problems.

Hi shawnee11, it sounds like it could be either the cabling or the cable box.  I don't know of any known issues with Hitachi so I can not see it being a problem with your TV. Some troubleshooting from our side would need to be done before moving on otr concluding anything. I would recomend calling into tech support at 1-888-553-1555

I have a Motorola HD/DVR. I may be watching and all of a sudden the picture goes to snow. Not a snowy picture but no picture at all. Just snow. I have turned it off and back on but to no avail. Has this happened to anyone?
