HD STB with SD TV?

I have one HD TV with DVR and one SD TV with STB.  If I upgrade the STB to HD, can I use it with my SD TV and multi-room DVR to watch shows that were recorded in HD?  I know they will not be HD, but will they be downconverted and watchable?

Yes, an HD STB box will display all HD content, including that from a MR DVR, on a SD TV in letterboxed 16:9 format.

The HD STB can be set to a resolution your SD TV will accept and it should down convert shows sent from the MR DVR.

All the HD Set top boxes have Composite (Red white and yellow) hookups, and Coax out (the one that screws on), except the 6416, the 6416 does not have a Coax out connection.  All tvs are supported by the 7216 box though.
