We have a HD box in our room that is not working properly. If we go to HD channels it is hit or miss on the sound. If I get the sound on HD but decide to change the channel and go back there is no sound! We have changed the cables but still not working right. So instead of using the HD channels we are watching regular TV but paying for the HD. HELP!!!

We would need more info to help.
- How are you connected from the STB to the TV (HDMI, component, etc.)?
- Are you going through another device (like an AVR) before going to the TV?
- Which model STB do you have?

It is possible that you are suffering from an HDMI handshake issue. There are known issues with the Verizon boxes and some TVs that cause video or audio to not function properly over HDMI.
Is there any way you can hook up the audio using the digital audio output or the Red / White audio outputs with component video (red / blue / green - still gives 1080i video) and disconnecting the HDMI? Could you connect the audio to an external amp (either digital or analog)? Not meant as a permanent solution but more as a troubleshooting method. If this solves the issue then hopefully the firmware update that is coming soon will fix the problem and in the interim you can use this as a "solution".
