I have a hddvr hooked up through a yamaha rxv-465 receiver using hdmi cables and stanby passthru on the yammy.I set the dvr at 1080i res using the settings menu.I can watch and listen to Fios either with or without the receiver being turned on.For some reason, the dvr changes the res to 720 p and its not always consistent when it does it.I'm fairly sure the dvr did this before I set up the yammy so ...does anyone else have this problem and perhaps a solution>?

It looks as if the issue is with the HDMI handshake that does not see the yammy as a 1080 device. Try running the STB directly to the TV and use the fiber or RCA to the yammy. I know it may not be the solution of choice but will get you audio to the receiver and 1080 to the TV.

Did you test out his theory, and do as he suggested? Did you contact tech support nad have them RESET the STB?
