Has anyone experience with plugging off the receiver when not in use?

I have the feeling that the receiver is always running, although it is technically turned off. Is this normal? If yes, then it means that it is using a lot of electrictiy all the time, because it is really warm when I touch it. Can I completely plug it out each time I turn it off?

Yes it is always running and is a bit hot, but I wouldn't recommend unplugging it everytime you aren't using it.
