Hooking up a HD-DVR to a standard TV

Here is my issue.  I have three TV's setup in my basement (sports bar).  I have two HD TV's with HD-DVR boxes, but also have a standard TV that is presently working off a small desktop box (not HD).  As most of you know the HD channels for the major networks are 4 or 5 seconds behind the regular broadcast major network channels.  This causes a problem when watching the same game on all three TV's.  Is there a way that I can split the signal coming out of one of my HD-DVR boxes and send it to the standard TV so that the game can be viewed on all TV's at the same rate ?

yeah you can just use the coax off the box, it will pump out the same signal to your SD TV. you wont get the 1080i but you will get the channel. And yes you can get a picture from the HDMI and coax at the same time.

There is no coax hookup on the back of the HD-DVR, only audio and video outputs and of course the HDMI hookup that is already plugged into my HD-TV.

All outputs are active simultaneously.  You can use the Video (yellow RCA) with the analog audio (red / white RCA) to either directly feed your SD TV, use a VCR as an RF modulator (if the TV doesn't accept composite), or buy an RF modulator (from somewhere like Radio Shack) to make a permanent hookup.  Hope that helps.

Even the new 7xxx serise has a coax hook up on the back. Coax is a video hookup. Or as Keyboards said you can use the RCA.

Yeah, but the old 6416-2 DVR doesn't have an RF output (it was optional and Verizon chose to not have that option).

I was thinking the same thing, but wondered if anyone else had tried it yet (hooking up the VCR).  Can't wait to get home and try it out.  Thanks again...

I have the composite outputs hooked to my VCR (yes I still use one) and the output of the VCR hooked to my flat screen.  The only thing is that the output will probably be letterbox on your SD screen.

Not that this is about the issue, but the delay is actually caused by the DVR buffering the image before it displays it. The SD box will show the picture sooner since it isn't constantly recording what you are watching.

As for the actual issue, Keyboards pretty much covered it.
