How do I access Spanish/2nd Audio Program?

If I go into the Language/Audio channel option, the options are usually English Preferred and Spanish Preferred. The SAP isn't always a Spanish program, sometimes it's used for Descriptive Video Service. However, I can't seem to get this feature to work. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

The SAP option (on/off/blah) is changed through your TV. Check the remote that came with it.

That only works if you're using an analog cable signal, and it doesn't work with HDMI.
