How do I extend recording??

If I program a recording ahead of time, the feature to extend the ending is there...However, say I turn on a game in progress and I record, but I want to extend the ending, there is no way to do this (other than make it a series recording then change end time) Any help here? Am I missing something Thanks...I have the 64 series Hd Dvr box

At present can't be done - only works until the recording starts.  Either set up a manual recording after or record the show after.  This will be 2 contiguous recordings with the extension on the second recording.
