How functional is the FIOS smart TV app?

Message 1 of 2

this isn't really a problem but more of a question that I can't for the life of me seem to find. In a few months, I will be moving to a new house that has FIOS service in its area Smiley Very Happy My dad has FIOS at his house and it is like the best service ever, for sure I'm gonna get it. But what I really wanna do is not use a cable box in all my rooms. For instance I want to be in my bedroom and not have to see a tv and a box an NO I WILL NOT USE NETFLIX. DirecTV has something similar to this. FIOS does have an app for samsung smart TVs and I've heard mixed reviews about them. I don't care how bad it is cuz it will improve in the future. What I want to know is, can you pull up a channel guide? Can you somehow turn on the TV and have the FIOS app instantly loaded? Can you just put in channel numbers and it will go there or do u have to go through a channel selection menu like xbox? Can you also hit INFO? i can't find any of these answers and just want to know please

App works pretty well.

It carries around 70 channels.

TV governs wether or not you can auto start app (most do not).

Doesn't have a guide and you can't enter channel numbers.

You basically get a list of channels.

Have to scroll to the one you want.

Can hit info to get some info on the current program.
