Just returned to Verizon and was frustrated that my guide showed EVERY channel whether I was subscribed to it or not. Spent time researching solutions and called Technical Support to no avail. Finally after much grumbling and experimenting, I managed to get my guide to cooperate:
Press "Menu" button on your Verizon remote
Go to "Settings"
Go to "System"
Go to "Favorite Channels"
Go to "Favorites 1"
Go to "Add Subscribed Channels" and press "OK"
Press left arrow on Verizon remote until get back to "System"
Go to "Television"
Go to "Last Viewed Guide State"
Go to "Enable" and press Ok
Press "Exit" button on Verizon remote and check your guide to double-check that only your subscribed channels show up
Hope this helps 😄
PS - Originally I had just a regular set box for my TV, but upgraded to a DVR after one week....don't know if that made a difference.

It might help other users if you specified the STB you have. I have two different STBs and the process you describe doesn't match available settings on either.

Walt,
What devices do you have? I have a QIP7232 and my Menu matches his settings perfectly. And I did use his procedure for my Favorites 2 list, which I normally only use on free preview occasions so I didn't mind wiping it out, and it worked just fine.
I really can't live with just using the Subscribed choice though, there are still far too many channels included that I never want to see. So I have a totally customized Favorites list that fits my needs. The advantage I see for starting with the Subscribed channels is that the list to customize is much smaller to start with, it just requires removing channels I don't want in my list.

If you don't want to customize list, you can just do the following:
Men-Setting-Televison-Last Viewed Guide State.Set to enabled.
Then Guide-Options-Subscribed channels.
