Hi everyone. I have the same problem with SD over-ride.  It resets to 480i after I shut down & restart.  After reading the forum I tried a test to set up SD override "off" , the power off ONLY my TV.    In my setup I have fios DVR => ONKYO receiver => Sharp 65" LCD.     After I power down the TV, about 5 seconds later a relay clicks (possibly in the ONKYO) and the FIOS DVR box displays "dui".  Keep in mind that the fios box and receiver was never powered off.

long story short, when I power back up my TV only, the SD override is back to 480i.   So it seems like some kind of negotiation issue with the box resetting to 480i if it's not getting what it wants from the downstream components.

next I turned the receiver off.  Now it's just passing thru HDMI to the TV passivly.   Repeat the test setup to sd overide "off" and everything is fine, then power off the TV, and as soon as the tv goes all the way off with the click then the box says "dui" and when the TV comes back on presto chango it's back to sd overide = 480i.

Any idea how to fix this?

thanks in advance, I hate re-setting it up everytime I turn on TV.

I want my 16:9 guide back.  This native format (4:3) with the 1.7.1 release stinks.

I have also had this issue, but I have a Yamaha receiver.

There was a setting in the advanced setup of the receiver, where I had to change the "Monitor Check" setting from "SKIP" to "Yes". This appears to have resolved the issue, as when I go to SD stations, they aren't stretched.

I would check online to see if there is a similar setting with the Onkyo.
