Too bad that everytime I try to get an updated status of when my repair will happen, i just keep getting that verizon is retrieving my records- combined with a current and still holding wait time of 2 hours, this is unacceptable.

Unacceptable? Unacceptable is having no internet, TV or landline since last week and being told that it may be fixed on 11/19/12. Two weeks. I'm in the financial district in Manhattan, which got hit really hard. I know Verizon's COs got hammered down here. But two weeks?
