My grandmother recently switched over to verizon for her cable and phone services, and his having trouble (to say the very least) adapting to the new the remote. Is there a simpler remote, especially one with larger number buttons? It would only need to control the most basic of functions, and definitely the simpler the better.

There is nothing else provided by Verizon, but there are lots of choices in 3rd party remotes. Just about any universal remote that has "cable box" functions should work with Verizon. The Verizon STB's are motorola.

cheap and very few buttons. Now it will just change channels. There are none of the speciality buttons but it sounds like that may be what your after
