Lost Remote

My kids seemed to have lost the remote for one of the set top boxes (checked every where including under and in the couch).

How can I get a replacement?

You should be able to order one online somewhere at Verizon.com and have it mailed for free. They are considered "throwaway" items by Verizon and they don't even inventory them, much less charge you for it. You won't have to (or could even...) return an old one. You may have a Verizon store in your local area and could probably pick one up there. Or just call customer support and order one that way.

FYI, current replacements are limited to the two-device (2-button) models (TV-STB/DVR) and they may no longer support the 4-device models in your area.

I don't know about for free, but you can order one here: https://teleproducts.verizon.com/fios/index.cfm/eh/DisplayProducts

I ordered a couple after I got my service installed a month or so ago. Takes about a week to get them deleivered. I might order a couple to help defray the shipping and to have a spare. I got 3, one for my wife, one for my wife in another room (same wife, different STB), and one for the kids. Now, they don't have to use (lose) ours anymore.

If you have the Verizon IN HOME AGENT you can order a new remote right from it. No charge.

Not quite,

The remote is given to you at install and there is no remote fee like some cable providers.

If there is a service problem it is replaced at no charge. If you lose it, the dog eats it, or its a customer caused problem replacement is at your expense. Howebver, as mentioned, using the In Home Agent you can order one without charge.

I was just quoting what I was told by a Verizon service rep... almost verbatim. I assume it's true.

I had a defective one and needed a replacement. He told me to not bother mailing it back, they would just throw it away if I did,

Here is a screen shot of the page in Verizon Home Agent about the replacement remote. You may have to wait a while before this image is visable in order to clear the censors.
