I couldn't agree more, especially since when one searches for show titles or actor names the current channel continues to play. It wouldn't be that hard to extend that feature when searching VOD titles if they do it when searching live TV titles.

The difference is the VOD is a channel, not a menu function such as Guide and DVR Menu.  Some items on VOD are for sale, and this is a business, obligated by law to put the stock holders before the customers.  It's not pretty, but it's capitalism and government working their synergy.
