Media Center DVR vs plain HD DVR

From a reliability standpoint, can anyone offer opinions as to which is more 'stable' and reliable. I don't really need the streaming to other TV feature. Is there any other reason to select the Media Ctr DVR

Thanks

The media center Dvr is dependant on how reliable and powerful your computer is, hard drive capacity, capture card/input (hi-def) and video card (hi-def output).  I'm not sure what your implying about a "plain HD DVR"

By media center DVR, I think he meant Verizon's MR DVR.

MR DVR is just an optional feature on the DVR.  It's not a different box.  If you don't need multi-room streaming, then you don't pay extra to activate that feature on the DVR.

You will get a better picture from the fios DVR. But the MCE have a lot better options, but you will not get the VOD, or HD content. I use mine as a backup DVR is I need to record a third show at one time.
