I have the westell Router and the Motorola HD DVR,  Marked QIP 7216 1 on the front...

There was an upgrade again today to the DVR, and there was an update available to the software on the PC.

I am STILL getting "The requested operation has timed out" when trying to play any video.. internet, the included sample or anything I've got.

Music and Photos seem to work just fine.

And after getting off the phone with tech support, I got told that there is a patch coming out sept 1 for XP..

Seems all the software was geared towards Vista...

At least, that's the story they're telling me this time.

I'm running Vista on one machine and could only get the sample video to play once.  Couldn't do it again.  On my XP machine couldn't get any video to play.

Charles,

I tried what you say below, and I can't even play the sample video. I get the following error message.

We encountered an error. Please vistit your computer and click on Media Manager Help menu. Select the option Video Component Check and follow the instructions to resume video playback on TV screen.

Tried that still no luck? Any other ideas? Why this isn't working, prior to the last update a few days ago, I was only able to play the sample video now I can't play anything. My local file I am trying to play is .mpg format from a sony video camera.

I figured I would have to wait for the next update. Thanks for the info, I didn't even attempt to call tech support, since I am in the technical field I hate dealing with idiots, figured I would be on the phone for hours without any resolution, so I figured to check this board, I can't believe it will take that long for a fix though, unbelievable.

I found out my Adobe Flash Player was not up-to-date.  Adobe Flash Player is Version 10, now.  See if updating helps with playing videos.

Hey Verizon? Got a Beta-testing team? I'd love to be a part of it...

VIDEO

Got the latest updates as of today, Windows XP running MM. Content off a Network drive. All local video previews on the local player are fine indicating my system should be fast enough. It IS an AMD 1.24Ghz/512MB system which as a slave should be plenty fast.

Your DEMO video stutters and looks horrible. All my videos that can play do the same thing.

There seems to be a problem with handshaking to the box and I notice there doesn't seem to be ANY buffering? No FF/RW/PAUSE control either?

Internet videos do the same thing.

AUDIO

Again, no FF/REW/PAUSE control. Missing Randomize function?

I hate to sound like a broekn record (for those who still remember what a record is), has anyone found a fix for the media manager video problem. I keep getting nice info popups from verizon telling me about this wonderful product that I cannot get to work.

anyone else have a real sucess with this yet?

I have been test MM with my laptop and was finally able to break it so I couldnt stream video so I had the same issue as much of the users on this thread.  (What I did I'm not sure exactly...may have something with the new update aswell)

I wasnt able to stream anything to the hub, but they would play in MM.  I had not only powercycle my DVR, but also my reboot my computer + reinstalled MM. After that, I was back to streaming again.

That's what I have so far.
