Motion Artifacts on New Fios TV Install with QIP7232-2 DVR

Hello

I am STILL a Direct TV sub, and have been for 15 years,

I recently signed up online for the Fios Triple play with Ultimate HD

I am having severe artifacting on some of my favorite channels

Food Network 664

AMC HD 731

Nat Geo 621

If I watch the same shows on my Direct TV HR24-500 DVR, these channels are smooth and artifact free.

I have called Verizon to complain and they sent 2 techs out to check my system.

I show them the differance between Direct TV and Fios, and they see the huge differance, but they could not solve it.  All they say is I have good signal strength.

I am about to cancel the whole package and keep Direct TV if Verizon can't improve the PQ.

Will this be answered by Verizon?  I am still in my 30 day trial period and ready to get rid of it already.

I am watching on a new Sharp Elite Pro70X5 70" LCD/LED TV

The QIP7232-2 DVR is connected via HDMI direct to the TV

The box video format is set to 1080i 16:9

The DVR has been swapped

A new coax was installed directly from the ONT to the FIOS box as a test with the same poor PQ results.

The HDMI cables were swapped between both DVR's.  The problem did not swap.

No matter what has been done, the PQ is poor on the above listed channels.

Here is what I see on Ch 664

Should this be normal for the best fiber optic network in the world?

2nd Picture is Direct TV Ch 231

You be the judge

I will cancel if no one responds.

This is EXACTLY what I've been experiencing with my new FiOS install... BLOCKS EVERYWHERE! Not just with fast motion stuff (though that's when it's prominent) but all over the place regardless of the channel. I haven't called a tech to come out yet because I was just going to accept it, but not now.

Did you ever get a tech out to look at your macro blocking problems?

Been seeing the same thing in VA Beach.  It honestly is getting worse and not better.  SyFy HD last night looked like YouTube video from a couple years ago.  Have a tech coming to the house in a couple weeks (first time I was available), however since it is on all of my TVs and I have ruled out everything but the ONT as the issue, I suspect this issue is further up the line.

I should mention I have been a FiOS customer for 4+ years now and this problem just popped up a few months ago.  I didn't think a whole lot of it until I saw USA HD (one of the most affected channels on my end) on both Dish HD and Suddenlink HD and the differences are just too big to ignore.
