Multi Room DVR Added

We have 2 HQ DVRs at the house.  Neither is a multi-room DVR (or at least they weren't).

We pay the single room DVR rental for each.  (I think its $16.99).

Sometime this month that changed - we now have the multi room DVR  -  not at my request.

My bill shows a 3 month promo, where they charged 19.99 for one of the DVRs, then

reduced it by $3,00.  So the end cost is the same.

Now, I really don't care or use the multi room features.  Maybe, maybe I'll try it at some point

during the three months.  I don't care if its there or not, and its free, so why worry, right?

At the end of the promotion, will Verizon automatically revert it back?  Or would they leave

it at multi-room and charge me the addition dollars?  Its not much, but I will be very

annoyed if I have to call to have it reverted.

I would be annoyed that it showed up. 1-800-VERIZON.

In the phone business, that is called cramming and is not legal. I would be worried about how it just showed up.

#1 You can view content recorded on the other DVR.

#2 You must be at a STB to schedule or set recordings on one DVR or the other.

#3 Or be at the individual DVRs to schedule or set recordings.

#4 One DVR cannot tell the other when and what to record. You must follow the rules outlined in #2 and #3.

You know I keep reading this, but it is not 100 percent true. Yes, for semantics sake, you cannot go to a DVR and schedule to record a show on another DVR. However, if you attempt to schedule a show on a DVR and there is a recording conflict, it will ask you if you want to record it on another DVR in your setup. I've had this happen countless times. (And that's from DVR to DVR - not STB to DVR.) Sometimes, if I know I want to record something on the other DVR, I'll just hit "record" on two shows in the guide that are scheduled for the same time to get the option. Then when it's scheduled for the other DVR, I'll just cancel them out. So it can be done.

COOL. Now that is something I have never seen. I hope it all works out for you. Perhaps that was added in 1.91.001 or some un announced build. That is a great feature. Nice for you to post this work around. When I had the DVRs mine were Cisco so may have been a bit different if you have Moto, since the developement stream is not exactly the same.

You get Kudos from me!
