HI, Since the limited disk space on the DVR is an issue for me, would upgrading the regular FIOS STB to a DVR box for another room solve the problem?
How will the multiroom function work If I record some shows on the "new" DVR box in the kitchen and also record shows on the main DVR in the living room. Could I still watch all recoreded shows from either room regardless of which STB it was recodred on?
Thanks
David

You can have as many as 7 DVR's! (but they cant communicate with each other and you couldnt have any other stb's besides DCT's)

That really sucks.
I was just thinking that with many channles going to HD, If I want to view from any room, I would need the multiroom add-on, plus I would need to upgrade each box to HD. These add-ons, really start to add up.

Yeah I personally don't think so. You spend what 400 bucks on it. Then a monthly price on the tivo service, and monthly cable card service.

It's expensive up front, but you cannot deny it really does provide a solution to so many customer's complaints about current VZ offerings.
Drive space: Tivo + 1TB drives wins hands down.
Guide: Tivo easily beats VZ's guide hands down.
DVR software: Tivo is relatively bug free compared to VZ's lame firmware. 1.6.2 will hopefully help, but this took way too long to be released and shows VZ's lack of dedication to current/future customers.
Multiple DVR support: Yup... stream recorded shows back and forth all you want. VZ can't do this.
Dump your recorded shows to PC: Tivo supports this too.
So... I personally do think so. Tivo service + cable card = VZ's monthly DVR service. It's just the initial investment of the box that is the difference. So just ask your self if Tivo's advantages are worth it.
