Multiple Multi-Room DVRs: How/Will This Work?

I'm living with my mother and stepfather, and this is how our TVs are set up. We have four: one in their living room, one in my den, one in their bedroom, and one in my bedroom. Their living room TV is HD and has the Multi-Room DVR, while the other three are all standard. I use the DVR far more often than they do, so I was considering the option of getting another Multi-Room DVR for my living room, but I'm unsure how this would work. I'm fairly certain the DVRs would be unable to communicate with each other, which sucks but appears to be unavoidable, but my question concerns the other two standard TVs, the one in their bedroom and the one in mine. Which DVR would these TVs communicate with or would they be able to access both DVRs? It's difficult for me to understand for certain how the standard boxes would only connect to one as opposed to the other, and if they can access both, how come the DVRs can't communicate?

FluteMusic88,

Your options are basically this:  A) You can move the DVR from their living room to yours  B)  If they need/want a DVR in the living room (but don't use the DVR feature), you can upgrade one of the SD boxes to a HD box and put that in their living room and move the DVR into your living room.  C) You can upgrade one of the SD boxes to a HD DVR and put that in your living room, keeping the original DVR where it is.

The Multi Room DVR feature can only be active on one DVR on a given account at a time (i.e. either their living room OR yours, not both).  Recorded content can be viewed from any SD box or HD (non-DVR) box, but no more than 2 concurrently.

Think about what you would like to do here.  If you have any technical questions or would like to be put in touch with a sales representative, let me know.

Alright, thank you very much for that information. I have another question now though. Lol. Is it possible to toggle the multi-room DVR feature between the DVRs via the online accessibility? For example, can you control which DVR has the multi-room feature activated the same way you can remotely schedule programming to record? For the most part, access to one DVR would be fine, but every once in awhile, there always seems to be an hour or two a week where three programs come together that you want to record. If the feature is accessable online, I could presumably simply access my DVR normally, schedule those one or two program to record on the original DVR either in that room or online, and when the time comes to watch them, switch the multi-room function to the other DVR from my computer, watch those programs, and then switch it back. Is this something that is possible, or is the DVR with multi-room functionality set and determined permenantally by Verizon? Thank you again.

While you can remotely program multiple DVRs, only one DVR can be designated as the MR DVR.

The MR DVR designation can not be toggled on and off via the web site.  If it can be done it woudl involve a work order or two and several days to process thru the system.
