New FIOS remote replacement policy

On the STB when I click on the Replace FIOS Remote menu I get taken to the first screen indicating that the replacement is only free during the first 90 days warranty and there is a green "Out of Warranty" button.  The free replacement remote is no longer available since I have had FIOS more than 90 days ago.  Will I be billed immediately if I click OK on the green "Out of Warranty" button or taken to another screen to confirm the $14.99 charge?  Is the Out of Warranty option available on the PC version of In-Home Agent?

Save yourself some money. Go on ebay and search fios remote. I've seen them for sale as low as $2.00 new.

Yeah this is a new Verizon policy to charge for the remotes. They were giving them for free but that got abused massively. I hope in the future some happy medium is found because there are customers who have had remotes for 5 years and I think if they have been customers that long they should be able to get some complimentary remotes. Something tells me Verizon will revise this policy in the future.

In In-Home-Agent the in-warranty option is grayed out and only option is out-of-warranty and there is a black Submit button on the bottom of the page.  Does this black button send an immediate request to bill $14.99 to the Verizon bill and ship an out-of-warranty replacement?  There is no Cancel button to exit this screen.

Is the Replace FIOS Remote screen on the STB one page or two pages?  Will clicking OK on the green "Out of Warranty" button on the STB take me to a final confirmation page with a picture of the remote to confirm the charge or will it actually submit the order in one click?  The first page doesn't have a picture of the remote.

You will have to confirm it, but there is no picture of the remote. It will tell you they will charge a one time $14.99 fee unless you qualify for the free one. Thats when you confirm it by clicking ok and will order it.

You can order one through Verizon without using the stb.

Just go here. https://teleproducts.verizon.com/fios/index.cfm/eh/DisplayProducts

or as mentioned already go on ebay and get one for a lot less.

If you click on the "Out of Warranty" button, apparently you are ordering the remote immediately. There is no additional confirmation screen. Anywhere else they make you go through a bunch of redundant confirmations ("Are you sure you want to go back to the previous screen?"), but here you get charged immediately. Don't bother calling Verizon if you accidentally ordered the $2-valued remote for $14.99. I was told "this is a completely different system that I don't have access to..... You can wait for the remote and then return it ..." . Right. Unintuitive ordering screen followed by useless "customer support".

I can't believe the problem I had ordering a remote ! I wasted 3 hours of time on the phone and internet. I even traveled to my local post office with NO luck. What the problem is my home is located in West Seneca , NY, 14224. My mailing address is  Orchard Park ,NY, 14127.

I could not convince the people I talked to to mail remote to my mailing address after explaining over and over and over that 110 Michael Road in West Seneca DOES NOT EXIST as far as receiving my mail. Is this really  a problem to understand?
