New box, new router, NO On demand or program info

Just got my 3rd (or 4th) replacement  STB (QIP7232 P2)   When ON DEMAND is pushed,  after about 30 seconds message reads "request has timed out due to network issue".    Internet connection is fine.   This all started about 2 weeks ago.  On line support told me on 3/7 that the IMG_PLATFORM was being updated and it would be back online on 3/10 at 7:30 PM.  3/10 came and went, still no ON DEMAND.  DVR does not work, cannot record anything AND  will not recognize external 1TB HD.  Rebooted STB and Router (ACTIONTEC M1424 Rev 1) (complete unplug)  at least  8 times including reboots by Verizon online support.  Verizon replaced outside box and splitter a few months ago.
