No 5.1 Sound with Arris VMS1100 & HK AVR 3600

I have the Arris device connected to the Harman Kardan AVR via HDMI cable. The HK unit is connected to 5.1 speaker system

 

Going to a HBO tv show with dolby sound (Terminator salvation) the receiver shows only 2 channel sound.

 

When using playstation 4 (connected to the AVR via HDMI as well), 5.1 works fine.

 

ANyone able to help?

I’m am having the sesame issue.  Can’t get 5.1 Dolby out of Fios VMS1100.  Tried changing the audio out setting in the “hidden menu” and that didn’t help.  Hoping to find a resolution.

Not all channels provide 5.1 sound.  I've never had trouble with getting such sound from the VMS1100 while with Verizon or now with Frontier.
